Our owner-managed three-star Hotel Lohmühle impresses with its unique ambience and personal service. A total of 21 double rooms and just as many single rooms offer you a high level of city hotel and old Franconian flair. The rooms are equipped with shower/toilet - some rooms have a bathtub - cable TV, radio, direct dial telephone and free WiFi. Free mineral water is also available for each of our guests in the room. The in-house car park offers enough space for all our house guests. There is a bus parking lot directly in front of the house for bus travelers.
Damit Sie gut schlafen: Großzügig bemessene Qualitäts-Betten
Hier bei uns im Hotel Lohmühle schlafen Sie ausschließlich auf Qualitäts-Betten- zudem sind diese alle großzügig bemessen: Unsere Einzelbetten sind immer mindestens 90 cm (einige auch 120 cm) breit und 200 cm lang. Doppelbetten verfügen bei uns über die Maße 180 x 200 cm (fast alle mit zwei getrennten Einzelmatratzen). Decken, Kissen und Bezüge wurden ebenfalls sehr sorgfältig ausgewählt – denn Ihre Bettruhe liegt uns am Herzen. Schlafen Sie gut!
Main house
The main building does not have a lift, but has 12 newly renovated double rooms, which can also be booked as a home office, with a wonderful Franconian flair. As rustic as the facade, the hotel rooms are designed to match.
New building
Particularly important for all those who value comfort or who depend on it: Our new building has a lift! The 21 single rooms and 9 double rooms in the new building are also furnished in a more modern way, whereby everything is very stylish and a country hotel touch characterizes the ambience. Incidentally, some of the larger double rooms can be converted into 3-bed rooms. Elevator and the room and bathroom doors are easily accessible with a normal wheelchair. We are also happy to set up cots free of charge (we offer baby monitors for hire) or provide a bowl for your four-legged friend on request.
Guest area and lobby
Our idyllic lobby offers a wonderful view over the Mühlbach through the floor-to-ceiling windows at any time of the year. Perhaps you will also catch a glimpse of our Lohmühlen beaver, which is at home here. If you like it particularly cozy, then we will stoke a crackling open fire for you. The water gurgles in a mill wheel in the room divider to the adjoining reception. There you can relax, for example, with board games, a good book or the daily newspaper, which you can get from us at reception.
Attention sports fans: In the lobby you can watch Sky Sport on an extra large TV. You won't miss a single detail of the last referee's decision!
Location and accessibility
Located directly on the picturesque Mühlbach and just a two-minute walk from downtown Bayreuth and its sights and the pedestrian zone, our hotel is one of Bayreuth's preferred addresses.

And we are also ideally located for cyclists - right at the entrance to the Main Cycle Path. The bikes can be safely parked with us. Rental bikes are also available for use.
Environment and sustainability
Wir setzen uns sehr dafür ein, besonders nachhaltig und umweltbewusst zu arbeiten:
Und zwar nicht nur dadurch, dass wir von der Lohmühle unseren eigenen Honig für Sie erzeugen. Sondern unter anderem auch durch folgende (und viele weitere) Maßnahmen:
- Wir verwenden nachhaltige Energie (überwiegend eigenerzeugt) und nachhaltig erzeugte Wärme und Warmwasser
- Wir haben umfassende Energiesparmaßnahmen umgesetzt
- Ab 2025 wird das Hotel zudem an das Fernwärmenetz angeschlossen
- Wir setzen konsequent auf Abfallvermeidung (u.a. durch Mehrwegsysteme)
- Ebenfalls selbstverständlich bei uns: Regionaler Einkauf für kurze Transportwege und weniger CO2; v.a. direkt beim Erzeuger
- Fische stammen bei uns vorrangig aus dem eigenen Bassin oder (Meereszuchtfische mit Zertifikat) von der Deutschen See
- Honig kommt vom eigenen Volk (Mitbringsel) und einem befreundeten Imker aus der Region
- Fleisch stammt ausschließlich aus kontrollierter Haltung (und wird „Nose to Tail“ verarbeitet)
- Die Eier am Buffet kommen von freilaufenden Hühnern/Bruderhahnaufzucht oder aus der Bodenhaltung – alles direkt vom Erzeuger
- Wir setzen auf Bio und Fairtrade bei Kaffee und Tee - und auf Müsli direkt vom Erzeuger
Doch damit nicht genug: Wir tun noch viel mehr in Sachen Nachhaltigkeit und Umweltschutz!
Diese und viele weitere Maßnahmen werden auch von unabhängigen Gremien gewürdigt und anerkannt. Unter anderem wurden wir mit der Goldprämierung beim "DEHOGA-Umweltcheck" sowie einer Zertifizierung für den "Klima+Umweltpakt Bayern" ausgezeichnet.
